While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Steve Jobs:

‎”I think if you do something and it turns out pretty good, then you should go do something else wonderful, not dwell on it for too long. Just figure out what’s next.”

Tonight the TV show CNBC Titans will air a biography of Steve Jobs. Probably it won’t contain much new information but nonetheless it might be interesting for geeks like me.

lonelysandwich:

When Steve’s happy, I’m happy.
And here, Steve’s happy because he’s just announced what was the most significant Apple, Inc. development in the entire show. Steve presents iAd with the satisfaction of knowing he’s not just taking on the big boys, but he’s doing it with style. Steve believes he’s in the process of revolutionizing the sick, sucky advertising industry. And I think he’s right.
Because despite having created some of the world’s most beautiful hardware, Apple is in the content business. And they know that software is content. And by creating an ad network to support the content already in the hands of millions of people unengaged by more static, traditional content, Apple is in a unique position to rewrite the advertising book.
The cynical view is that all the hardware, all the music and the movies, the deals with publishers and developers and TV networks, all the gorgeous software and the elegant distribution channels and the iTunes and the retail spaces, it’s all meant to serve this endgame. That’s the cynical view. There is no but. Draw your own conclusions.

The problem is, in hardware you can’t build a computer that’s twice as good as anyone else’s anymore. Too many people know how to do it. You’re lucky if you can do one that’s one and a third times better or one and a half times better. And then it’s only six months before everybody else catches up. But you can do it in software. As a matter of fact, I think that the leap that we’ve made is at least five years ahead of anybody.
